The Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague is a research organisation as defined by Act No. 110/2009.

Its core work consists in conducting basic and applied research into the history of Czech and international applied art, design, book publishing, photography and fashion.
The Museum curates its collections and presents the results of its scholarship and research through various publications, exhibitions, lectures and other channels.
